悪冠一色
Aagan-Iisou
The former super heel group of Toryumon Japan and Dragon Gate. After a year and a half apart, they have come back together in El Dorado. Their role is a little different this time, as they are almost playing the babyface side of things. Similar to the old Crazy MAX vs. M2K wars, the established and popular unit has garnered much fan backing, taking on the hated, upstart STONED team. Despite reuniting, they have not resumed regular unit activity.
Unit History
In summer 2003 the Italian Connection was showing a very pronounced divide. Milano and YOSSINO were the face side, demanding clean matches. Condotti Shuji, brother YASSINI, Bakery Yagi, and Berlinetta Boxer were still heel, interfering and causing mayhem in matches. YASSINI hurt his arm, so he spent a lot of his rehab time on the internet. He made many posts on the ItaCon blog. While it endeared him to Toryumon internet fans, it angered Milano Collection. They began bickering on the blog, eventually YOSSINO joining in. It spilled over into in ring dissention. On 8/30, the first 4 way 6 man tag match took place. Venezia, former pet of YOSSINO, interfered on Condotti Shuji 2 times, angering him. Shuji and brother attacked the gorilla after the match, stripping his mask. Milano tried to stop them, and received a blue box attack to the back. The ItaCon had imploded. Yagi and Berlinetta also left, aligning with Shuji and brother. This didn't last long, as they would repeatedly abandon Boxer during matches. Finally on 9/8, they attacked him and tore off his mask. Boxer would later say he was retiring from Toryumon. The same night, they both were belittling Yagi, and they sent him to go get some bread he baked. While he did so, Touru Owashi entered the ring and shook hands with them. Yagi returned with his sandwiches, and Owashi made the cryptic statement "Sumos don't eat bread". Yagi was attacked and embarrassed, his bread shoved down his throat. He would soon be forced into referee duty due to the newly dubbed Giants group. Shuji renamed to Dotti Shuji, brother to brother YASSHI, and the tandem dominated the inaugural Re de Parejas tournament. Berlinetta Boxer returned on 10/21, to seemingly gain his revenge. He however aided them. He unmasked and joined the group under his real name, Shogo Takagi. The 4 of them were the first super heel unit Toryumon had seen since the demise of original M2K. They were now dubbed "Hagure Gundam", which means Stray army. They went in to 2004 looking very strong.
Fall and Winter 2003 weren't very kind to Masaaki Mochizuki. He and Second Doi fared poorly in Rey de Parejas, Mochi dropping most of the falls. His unit, Shin M2K was not accepted by fans, and was in shambles. The final big match of 2004, at Yoyogi on 12/16, he lost to Keni'chiro Arai, causing SM2K to be dissolved. Mochi went into his 10 year anniversary year looking unsure of his direction.
1/31/2004
Hagure Gundam were the UWA 6 man tag champions. Mochi and former SM2K mates
Dragon Kid and Arai came out to the old Toryumon Seikigun theme and challenged
them to a match. Mochi turned on them during the match, hitting DK with the blue
box, then setting up Araken to be pinned by Owashi. He returned ot his heel
roots and joined Hagure Gundam. The group got it's official name that night,
悪冠一色.
It romanizes to Aagan Iisou. Loosely meaning, "Villians wear the same
colours". Kondo returned to his real name. Earlier in the evening, Shuji
extended overtures to Henry III Sugawara, who had just returned from Toryumon X
to reform the Royal Brothers team. He declined 100%.
The group was now 5 members, with the veteran Mochi guiding the young rudos. Mochi invited former M2K mate Susumu Yokosuka. They met in a match where if Susumu lost he would have to join. He lost, but Mochi attacked him, saying he was too much of a baby face to ever be heel again.
Sugawara was repeatedly invited, but declined every time. However, a mysterious masked man began appearing, interfering in matches and giving CIMA the Buckingham Drop, which was Sugawaras' new finisher. The Royal Brothers began to have dissention.
When El Numero Uno rolled around, Aagan seemed unstoppable. On 3/14 in Sapporo, CIMA finally caught the masked man and revealed him to be YASSHI. Mori said he now again fully trusted Sugawara. He vowed to have a great match with his friend on 3/25 in Yokohama, for their Numero Uno league match.
3/25/2004
Mori entered the ring for the match, but Sugawara did not appear. Eventually
6 of the masked man appeared, assaulting Mori brutally. They unmasked one by
one, revealing themselves as Aagan members. The final one removed his mask....it
was Sugawara. The match officially started, and Sugawara gave his Buckingham
Drop on Mori, pinning him in 58 seconds. Aagan continued their assault on Mori,
tearing his costume in half. Sugawara cut his own hair off, and renounced his
Prince character. He returned to his real name and joined Aagan Iisou. His feud
with Mori would continue throughout the year.
Sugawara, Mochi, and Kondo were all close in points near the top of ENU block A when it came down to Shuji vs. Mochi. The winner advanced, and if it went a draw, Sugawara would advance. Mochi asked Kondo to lay down, Kondo did the same. Sugawara tried to cause a double ringout. The first sign of dissention was showing. Mochi won, but would go on to lose in the semi finals, while Kondo would advance to the finals after winning the Dragon Scramble battle royal. The problems continued.
SUWA vacated the UDG belt after suffering a shoulder injury. It was decided that one member from each unit (except DF, since they were in shambles at that point) would compete in a one night tournament at the annual World show. Mochi and Kondo argued over who should represent Aagan, with the rela issue being over who the true leader was. Their decision match was on 6/5 in Katsura, with Mochi winning. The 2 shook hands, seemingly ending the problems.
6/6/2004
Mochi squashed Naoki Tanisaki in his match. He began an MC performance, with
Aagan in the ring with him. Kondo quickly charged him with the Lanzarse, and
Aagan attacked him. He was kicked out of the group. Mochi returned at the end of
the night, when Seikigun and the ItaCon were being assaulted by Aagan. He threw
his Aagan shirt down, and said he would destroy them alone.
He was alone, however. He was also still the Aagan representative in the UDG tournament. It was decided if he could beat Kondo and Owashi in a handicap match, he could keep the spot. That match occurred on 6/20, but quickly went to a no contest. Aagan assaulted Mochi 5 on 1, until Susumu made the save. It became a tag match, Kondo pinned Mochi, and would go on to the finals of the UDG tournament. Mochi would reunite with various M2K mates to form Final M2K at World.
The switch to Dragon Gate removed some of the focus from Aagan. They didn't participate in Odaiba very often, and their role in bigger matches was all but gone. Sugawaras' feud with Mori continued, Ryo Saito now involved in the mix.
Aagan went into Rey de Parejas with Kondo, Owashi, and Sugawara. They performed well, but lost the finals to the ItaCon. Sugawara lost the eventual blowoff to the Mori feud, in a hair vs. hair match on 11/28. He escaped losing his hair, however. President Okamura ended up losing his, instead.
Aagan made another challenge for the Triangle Gate belts, but again lost to the ItaCon. This time it was a decisive loss. Rumours were going around that Kondo was leaving after this show, but it didn't happen. A collective sigh went up from fans.
Aagan Iisou appeared together as a group for the 2004 year end Fan appreciation shows and parties in Kawagoe. This would be the final time the 5 of them would be together for over a year.
12/31/2004
The DG office released a short announcement to the mass media and on the
Gaoara site, announcing the dismissal of Shuji Kondo, brother YASSHI, Shogo
Takagi, Takuya Sugawara, and Touru Owashi. The 5 members of Aagan Iisou were
fired. Fans were confused and shocked, not sure whether it was an angle, or
real? Details were to be given in Nagoya on 1/9/2005, the first show of the new
year.
1/9/2005
President Okamura opened the show with New Years' greetings. He confirmed that Aagan Iisou has been dismissed. He quickly said this was not an in ring action. He went on to talk about how all players are expected to act properly both in and out of the ring. No matter who they are, if they cannot, they will be dismissed. He went as far as to name CIMA, Magnum, and Mochi as examples, saying if their out of the actions warranted it, they would be dismissed as well.
After a Weekly Gong interview announced the formal break-up of the group, all 5 went their separate ways. Shuiji and YASSHI went to All Japan. Jet went to DDT. Owashi started in Osaka, moving to DDT later. Suga didn't resurface until dragondoor was starting. All 5 were in d2p, Suga reunited with Kondo and YASSHI. Owashi and Jet stayed on their own, mostly. 2005 and then d2p ended without all 5 coming together.
4/27/2006
El Dorados' debut brings all 5 together in the ring at the same time, for the
first time since Kawagoe.
7/17/2006
After the official debut of Dorado, all 5 came together and reformed the unit.
Sugawara however was not a guarantee to remain, as he had ties to STONED.
10/31/2006
Suga officially quits Aagan, betraying them to become the new STONED leader.
Members continue on in El Dorado, occasionally teaming with each other, but they have at no point properly reformed the group.
