1997: Enters the Ultimo Dragon Gym as a part
of the first class of students. His teachers were Ultimo Dragon and Dos Caras.
Debuts vs. Katsumasa Kuroki, who would go on to be Magnum TOKYO and one of
CIMAs' biggest rivals. While in Mexico, turns rudo and forms the legendary Crazy
MAX unit with fellow 1st term students Sumo Fuji and Judo Suwa. Uses the
ringname Shiima Nobunaga.
1998: Continues in Mexico, while making appearances in the US
for World Championship Wrestling. Later in the year, CMAX as a whole invade
Japan for Michinoku Pro Wrestling. They align with the heel group SASUKE Gumi.
1999: Headlines with Crazy MAX as the focal point of Toryumon
Japan. Changes name to SHIIMA, then CIMA not long after. The reasoning for this
was the name Nobunaga was given to identify him as a Japanese in Mexico. Now
that he was in Japan, the Nobunaga was no longer needed. Together with SUWA the
pair win the MPro tag league.
2000: Competes in the 3rd Super J Cup, reaching the finals
before losing to Jyushin Thunder Lyger. With the arrival of M2K, begins to show
some babyface leanings.
2001: Continues feuding with M2K. In spring, he suffered a
severe knee injury. He continued to wrestle until after the first Hair vs. Mask
cage match in September. After escaping the cage, he went to get surgery they
kept him out for a month. Upon returning, he unveiled his new Schwein finisher.
He defeated Chocoflake K-ICHI with it in under a minute, sending Choco to the
hospital for 5 years, until he returned for the Original M2K 1 night reunion.
Won the feud with Original M2K at the end of the year, winning a leader vs.
leader Hair vs. Hair lumberjack match with Masaaki Mochizuki.
2002: Crazy MAX charge to the frontlines of the Japan vs. T2P
feud. They spent most of the year fighting the Italian Connection. After losing
the first major battle on 9/8, CIMA rebounded by defeating Milano Collection AT
to force T2P to break up.
2003: After disappointing showings in 01 and 02, finally wins
El Numero Uno to become the first UDG Title holder. He follows that up by
defeating Ultimo Dragon in a Student vs. Teacher title match.
2004: At World, wins the tournament to crown what would end up
being the final UDG champion. Is named the first Open the Dream Gate champion
when Dragon Gate starts. With the departures of SUWA and TARU, CIMA chose to end
Crazy MAX at the end of November. The rest of the year is spent in the Waku Waku
Fuji Land group.
2005: Returns to his heel roots, forming the super body unit
Blood Generation. Spends most of the year feuding with Ryo Saito, and later TAKA
Michinoku.
2006: Is betrayed by other Blood members. He regroups the unit
as an international super unit, taking in non-Japanese members during their
trips to the DG mat. Takes BxB Hulk under his wing, forming the Blood Hearts
team. Loses his hair to Gamma at the end of the year, in addition to a 1st round
exit in King of Gate, also to Gamma. He ends Blood Generation.
2007: Aligns with Susumu Yokosuka and Hulk as the beginning of
a new unit. Personal issues are put aside for 5 minutes, as original Crazy MAX
reunited on the SUWA retirement show. CIMA and SUWA battled to a 5 minute draw,
then the original members posed together for the last time. Forms Typhoon, with
the intent of taking the wrestling world by storm. At World, gains revenge for 7
years earlier, defeating Lyger for the Dream Gate. During King of Gate, has the
first real singles match his married couple tag partner Don Fujii. Loses
in the finals of the tournament to Gamma, when a low blow left CIMA unable to
continue.
Despite the strange end at King Of Gate, CIMA continued into 2008 as the unmatched ace of Dragon Gate. He finished the feud with Gamma as the winner. In addition to Japan, CIMA continues to spearhead the DG global expansion. He makes frequent trips to the US to compete for US independent promotions. Where CIMA goes, Dragon Gate goes, and vice versa.
Accumulative injuries to his neck have put CIMA out of action for the foreseeable future. He was forced to vacate the Dream Gate because of this.
