M2K

The M2K history is a complex one. Their storied and somewhat checkered past is best broken up into 4 eras.

Original M2K:
Formed in April 2000. Susumu and Yasushi Kanda returned from Mexico early that year as heels, and wreaked havoc in Toryumon. They began a feud with CMAX, but were obviously heavily outnumbered. Mochi saved them a few times mainly out of his hatred for CMAX. Susumu attempted to recruit him, but both he and Kanda were against it. Finally they agreed to a singles match. After battling to a draw, Mochi agreed to join, turning heel in the process. M2K was born, and they invigorated Toryumon with their fresh, exciting, and brutal heel ways. They wreaked havoc at every turn, going by the slogan "Rudest of the Rude" and "Double Ringout Committee" (this stemmed from their constant forcing of double ringout finishes, to disappoint fans and ruin shows). They are credited with turning Crazy MAX into a face group, beating the legendary team at their own game. Darkness Dragon and Chocoball KOBE joined in late 2000, forming the most revered incarnation of M2K. KOBE was replaced by Genki Horiguchi on the same night, 11/8/2001. Mochi would lose a hair match to CIMA in December 2001, which caused him to take a leave of absence. He returned, cleansed of his heel ways.  His attempts to turn M2K into a clean fight group failed quickly, and he was ousted in early 2002. This incarnation of M2K is the most revered and remembered version, their impact and legend only matched by Crazy MAX.

Magu2K:
After the dismissal of Mochi, the hunt for a new leader was begun. Genki, now having more of an active role, began actively recruiting Magnum. He took dance lessons, and eventually paid for dance lessons for all members. Magnum became leader, turning M2K from a serious heel group into a group of backup dancers. This version was the final one under the M2K banner, the name was sealed by Magnum after Kandas' retirement, out of respect to his influence on the group. This version became Do FIXER, and is usually not discussed when the impact of M2K is the topic. Many point to this era of M2K as the beginning of the "Social Dance" aspect of Toryumon taking over the pro wrestling aspect.

Shin M2K:
With Kandas' blessing, Mochi revived the name in January 2003. It was dubbed "Shin" for "new". This version was never accepted, as it basically took all members of the Toryumon home army, such as Dragon Kid and Raimu Mishima, who spent so much time battling M2K. In the eyes of most fans, this version was an insult to the name, since it wasn't heel, and only included Mochi from the original. Fans hated it, and it was dismissed by the end of that year.

Final M2K:
As the name would seem to imply, this version will be the final one. Taking members from all eras, this could be considered to be the definitive collection of M2K members. K-ness sparked the reunion upon his return from shoulder surgery at World 2004., taking the name forward into the Dragon Gate era. This version ended at the end of 2006.
