Goes from Sumo to the WAR system in a non-wrestling capacity job. Enters the Ultimo Dragon Gym. Debuts as a part of the first class. Becomes a founding member of Crazy MAX with the ring name Sumo Fuji.
Participates for World Championship Wrestling, and debuts in Japan with CMAX for Michinoku Pro Wrestling. They align with the heel group SASUKE Gumi.
Toryumon Japan debuts. When CIMA and SUWA changed their names, he asked for a new name too. Instead of getting FUJI like he wanted, CIMA named him Sumo "Dandy" Fuji.
Renames to Sumo "Dandy" Fuji 2000, and briefly Sumo "Dandy" Fujii 200,000. Loses hair at World, after a Suicida Match pits him against CIMA. Steals Ryo Saitos' bicycle and Genki Horiguchis' surfboard, the first of many thefts.
Renames to Big Fuji. After losing the bike back to Ryo, they form the Bicycle Brothers team. Feuds with Yasushi Kanda most of the year. It was never actually settled, as Kanda was forced into retirement.
Renames to Don Fujii. This character was patterned after Don Arakawa, not Don Frye as initially thought. Had a brief CMAX vs. CMAX feud with SUWA while he was distanced from the group. Invades the T2P ring to steal Milano Collection ATs' invisible dog Mikeru. Loses it back to Milano in a match, but then steals it again right away. Ryo returned it the next day, prompting Fujii to disband the Bicycle Brothers. Poses as a giant gorilla named El King Kong to kidnap YOSSINOs' pet monkey Venezia.
Renames to .... Don Fujii, ending the yearly rename tradition. Loses Venezia to K-ness and Do FIXER. Steals BATAyans' golden microphone. After returning it, sings a duet of Dream Play with BATA. Disappears when Rey de Parejas starts, although Karaoke Machine #1 was found to replace him.
A vicious slump in El Numero Uno puts him at odds with other CMAX members. It was never really settled. Managed to avoid the maximum weakest spot in the tournament by beating brother YASSHI. Poses as Catcher Fuji and steals the baseball bat of Second Doi. Defends the bat in a Bat vs. Iron Perm match, forcing Doi to change his hair to the iron perm style. Teams with Doi and Naoki Tanisaki as the iron perm enthusiast team for Rey de Parejas. Leads Waku Waku Fuji Land after CMAX splits.
Joins Blood Generation. Challenges for the Dream Gate for the first time, but fails.
Resumes feud with Kanda, coaxing him out of retirement. Remains a Blood member after MO'z forms, but distances himself from CIMA for the first time to align with Magnum TOKYOs' Revolution and Renaissance concepts. Disappears again, this time during WrestleJAM. Turboyan was found to replace him. Teams with Kanda in the IJ Tag tournament, losing in the 1st round. An injury to Magu in the later rounds allowed Fujii to jump into his spot teaming with Masaaki Mochizuki. They went on to win. Continuing with the Renaissance theme, he scored a major upset by defeating Susumu Yokosuka to win the Dream Gate.
Falls back into a comedic and backline role. Feuds with Tetsuhiro Kuroda of Apache Pro Wrestling Gumi. Again disappears, forcing Turboyan to come in from his planet. Wins the Open the Triangle Gate with Mochi and K-ness. Has his first true singles match with married team partner CIMA in King of Gate, but loses.

Fujii has continued with Mochi in defending the DG name in other promotions. They continue to be a pillar in the tag division, making a strong attempt on the Twin Gate.
