2005: Debuts as the 4th graduate of the Dragon Gate system. Don Fujii names him Katsuo after the match. The name came from the comic strip Sazae-san, and his resemblance to the character Katsuo Isono.
2006: After initially being turned down, joins Tozawajuku in summer, returning to his real name. Returns to the Katsuo character for NEX shows. At the end of the year, he began to show some heel tendencies. He proclaimed 2006 would be the era of Katsuo.
2007: Moderate success on NEX shows, but little else. Like Tozawa he rarely participated on the main roster. After the TozaKatsu team was snubbed for the summer adventure tag league, he packed up and left the gym. He was missing for several weeks. No one really seemed to care or even know he was gone except the other Tozawajuku members. He returned with curious hair and further heel tendencies. Then he started eating. Instead of turning outright heel, he went in a totally different direction. He became a charming fat person. Really very fat.

Further down the same path as Tozawa, the 2 formed the Metabolic Brothers within Tozawajuku. With Tozawa going on a diet, Katsuo swore to balloon up to 170kg and continue his metabolic path. Following an August tour of his hometown Hokkaido, he asked for his resignation for the company. Much like his August 2007 departure, this was short lived, as he returned to join Real Hazard as a miniature Cyber Kong, Cyber Kongcito.
