Before Dragon Gate: Enters wrestling through the Michinoku Pro Wrestling system, where he was a dojo boy at the same time as Muscle Outlaw'z member Gamma. He left MPro and made the small independent Wrestle Yume Factory his home company. He switched from his real name to the vampire character MAKOTO.
Under the MAKOTO character he entered Toryumon Japan. At the end of the year, Crazy MAX recruited him. His membership was opposed by TARU, but after defeating him in a match he was allowed to join.
His stay in CMAX was short, as TARU never accepted him. The 2 had a Loser Leaves Toryumon match at World. MAKOTO lost, and was banished. He returned 1 month later as Darkness Dragon, attacking his next great rival, Dragon Kid. At the end of the year he joined the original M2K.
Continues his feud with Dragon Kid. The first of his mind game counters is created, the Judah counter to DKids' Christo.
Remains with M2K when Magnum takes over. Speaks for the first time, which accelerated  the feud further. Defeated M2K mate Genki Horiguchi for the NWA Welterweight title. After another hot summer of matches, the feud with Kid culminated with a mask vs. mask match in the main event of the biggest Toryumon show to date. He lost, his identity was revealed. He was banished from M2K, and declared war on them. He aligned with Dragon Kid and Ryo Saito as a new unit called Do FIXER. This was all revealed to be an elaborate ruse, and he reconciled with M2K members as the real Do FIXER. He was only a spy to cause problems in Seikigun. He changed his ring name to K-ness, and resumed wrestling masked. His next major rivalry started soon after, with T2Ps' YOSSINO.
Suffers a shoulder injury, forcing him to vacate the Welterweight title. He returns to feud with YOSSINO in time for World. He aggravated his shoulder there, but he continued to wrestle through the first Rey de Parejas. He and Susumu took their KnesSuka team to the finals, before losing. He announced a long term absence to heal his injury.
Returns at World to aid the formation of Final M2K. He changed his keynote color from black to blue. In hindsight this is ironic, as he is a huge fan of Akira Toriyama and the Dragonball series. Toriyama did the art work for a video game called Blue Dragon a few years after. K-ness returned to the ring in September.
Created the Open the Brave Gate title concept. Aligned with long time rival YOSSINO after the ItaCon ended, but YOSSINO betrayed him to join Blood Generation. Injuries crept up on him again, and at the end of the year he announced another long term absence.
Returned at World. At the end of the year, with the end of Final M2K he announced he was stepping down from the top end of the card. He assumed a matchmaker role, and would wrestle mainly in lower tier spots on the card. He and Susumu also ended KnesSuka.
He stuck to that decision until the Summer. He made another run at the top, joining up with fellow senior roster members Mochizuki and Fujii to win the Triangle Gate.

After losing the Triangle Gate, he has again stepped back into his background role.
