2002: Debuts as a 10th term student, for
Toryumon X.
2003: Patterned after Genki Horiguchi, adopts a surfer
character. Debuts in Japan with the rest of X. Reaches the finals of the Young
Dragons Cup, but loses to Takeshi Minamino.
2004: Challenges Genki to a singles match, and then gets him to
revert to his surfer character for a series of tags. Genki invites him to the
Toryumon Japan ring. He would be the only X wrestler to make the jump to Japan.
Due to a series of injuries to other participants, he was put into El Numero Uno
as a replacement, and he managed to win a Block B tiebreaker to reach the
quarterfinals. He remained during the Dragon Gate changeover. Despite his relationship
with Genki he was viewed as too weak for Do FIXER by Magnum TOKYO. Magu forced
him to undergo a 10 (which became 15) match trial series. He lost every match,
sometimes directly because of Magnum meddling to make him lose. Magu further
embarrassed him by making him adopt a character based on the TV show Water Boys.
It's about a swim team. Naoki had to wear tiny swim speedos to wrestle, and
perform a dance with other swimmers. In the end, Naoki was still not allowed to
join DF. Instead he joined up with Don Fujii and Second Doi as the Iron Perm
hairstyle team for the Open the Triangle Gate tournament. After that ended, he
was left laying by Fujii and Doi. DF came to his aid (after the assault was
over, naturally). He was finally made a member. He suffered a severe lung injury
at the hands of Aagan-iisou at the end of the year and missed several months
into 2005.
2005: Despite having several more years of experience, he was
placed as a generation rival of Shingo Takagi and the other DG trueborns. At the
end of the year he made several attempts on the Brave Gate and took CIMA to the
limit in the King of Gate 1st round. He finished of 2005 by winning a Survival
Gate Battle Royal on the final Korakuen.
2006: After a few months of teasing and a partial heel turn, he
betrays DF to join Blood Generation. Don Fujii blocks it, forcing him to pass an
entrance test. After pinning Fujii he is allowed to join. On the same night, the
Blood Coup D'état happens, and Naoki aligns with the eventual Muscle Outlaw'z.
Naoki then went on to lose every match he was in, particularly when Jack Evans
was involved. After WrestleJAM, fans were shocked when he left Dragon Gate to
become freelance. He couldn't compete until his contract expired at the end of
the year. When it did, he showed up in the rival El Dorado promotion. He aimed
at former Aagan members Shuji Kondo and Touru Owashi.
2007: After recovering from yet another injury, he joined
Dorado full time. He also joined the Accent Productions talent studio. He was a
main name behind the Soul Connection and Kasu Ichi series. He ended up aligned
with Kondo during the Dorado Unit formation phase, in SUKIYAKI. He spent the
year freelancing, competing for Dorado, Kaientai Dojo, and even dabbling in
death matches for Big Japan
In a repeat from 2005, Naoki was sacrificed to the arriving Magnitude Kishiwada, another DG to Dorado transplant. In March he announced he was resigning from Dorado to again be true freelance. 6 days later he shocked fans yet again by returning to Dragon Gate. He signed a free contract, similar to Gamma. He will compete on all shows, but is free to compete elsewhere. After several months of no unit alignment, he was recruited by Tozawajuku. He ignored this to side with Doi and Yoshino in WORLD-1, reuniting the DG born portion of the original MO'z incarnation.
