5/30/2002- Match listing for the May VamoAmi is up. Not a bad show, I can say once again without a doubt, Masaaki Mochizuki rules the Earth. As for the M2K dancing and what not, well, Darkness Dragon is WAY too good at it. Next VamoAmi airs on the 5th, covering the 5/19 and 5/21 shows (focusing on Magu joining M2K, assuring us another 5 Magu matches....). I've been asked a few times about what T2P stuff is being taped and what isn't. As far as I know, only 6/6 Korakuen Hall is being shown. As it is now, the next T2P special is 2 hours and must cram in 5/11 and 6/6, so I doubt there will be room for anything else. Sadly.
5/29/2002- Results up from the T2P show. You may or may not notice the Japanese version coming soon up there. This is a project I'm working on for my Japanese friends and readers, that will probably take some time to complete.
5/27/2002- Added a title history section.
5/26/2002- Results from Aichi up.
5/25/2002- *grumble* More email trouble, so yet another change, well, a return to the prior one. So again, if anyone has sent mail in the last 24-36 hours, please send it again. Full results up from Hiroshima. CIMA is going to be on a variety show called "Sanma Goten". The episode will air in June. After the main, M2K danced, but it was said to be a cold, arrogant dance. Magnum has taken to making fun of fans and their physical attributes, as part of the Egoist gimmick. The feedback I have heard so far is that Magu is doing an OK job as a heel, which is good to hear.
5/23/2002- More lineups for the T2P tour announced, it looks tremendous~! Barebones profiles for the first Toryumon X guys up, just stats, no pictures yet. Thanks once again to our friends at the Condotti Shuji homepage LANZARSE for the info, ありがとうございます^^. From what I was told, there is a strong chance of a full set of mini Crazy MAX, as it turns out Fumiyuki Hashimoto is SUWAcito (he doesn't seem to be too small though). Potential CIMAcito and Small Dandy Fuji to follow.
5/22/2002- Here is the card for the 5/29 T2P show. Looks great, with the Japan debuts for Berlinetta Boxer and Takuya Sugawara, and the return of Takamichi Iwasa. Sadly it won't be shown anywhere =(. Belated birthday greetings to Pescatore Yagi, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!. Please note I have (another) new email address, this one will be permanent. Some new links added.
5/21/2002- Results up from Kobe. Super Shiisa returns from his injury...and will be leaving again in 2 days to go on a Knowledge Pursuit in Mexico. SUWA cancelled his appearance tonight. Another match for World: Stalker and TARU will have the final match in their storied feud on 7/7, no idea if it is a gimmick match.
5/19/2002- Some more random info from Differ. Magnum has changed his nickname to Mr. Egoist. Mochizuki is now the leader of the Toryumon Army, Araken was the one who extended the invitation. Milano Collection AT vs. Don Fujii was made for the T2P Korakuen Hall show on 6/6, Milano is putting his transparent dog collection on the line......Also, it appears the UWA 6 Man tag titles were vacated by C-MAX on request, so they will be totally up for grabs at World.
5/19/2002- Results from Differ Ariake up. SUWA and TARU won the tag league. Mochizuki by winning the 4 way got to pick his partner, he chose CIMA. The teams were CIMA and Mochi, TARU and SUWA, Ryo and Fujii, Magnum and Genki.. Magnum has joined M2K, he has a pink jacket...CIMA betrayed Mochi during their match, Mochi was helped by the regular army and joined them officially. Genki vs. SUWA Hair vs. hair was made for Korakuen Hall on 6/7 (probably ending rumours of T2P vs. Japan, *sigh). Also, for Kobe World Hall, possibly the main event, there will be a UWA 6 Man Tag title 3 Way match. If you saw last years, you know it was one of the most entertaining matches from Toryumon last year. The teams are undetermined, but it will be Toryumon Army vs. C-MAX vs. M2K.
5/18/2002- Full results from Mie up. Lots of T2P abound tonight. Kanda is back to black hair now, apparently ^^
5/17/2002- For 5/19 Differ Ariake, there will be a tag tournament held, with CIMA, SUWA, Mochi, and Magnum. Each will choose a partner, so example: CIMA&TARU, SUWA&Fuji, Magnum & Genki, Mochi & Raimu. Also announced for that show is Stalker Ichikawa vs. X, which always leads to some outside guest. For 6/1, it will be Genkis' 2nd NWA Welterweight title defense, vs. Araken. Did a layout change to the results page, added one more tour date in July (a Differ Ariake show) and added a couple new (and long overdue) links. News flash results tonight, check back later!
5/16/2002- Photos of the Mexico show ran in Weekly Gong this week, and probably next week in Weekly Pro publications in Japan. The Italian Connection members all have new outfits (except maybe Milano) or modifications to the old ones. According to the folks over on the Highspots Lucha Board members of T2P and Crazy MAX will be on EMLL TV this week, doing some sort of run in. Odds of them taking part in the Japan vs. Mexico feud down there aren't too high, since most of them are in Japan. Unless Takuya Sugawara and the rest of the younger T2P guys are going to participate. Toryumon Japan finally gets back underway on Saturday, so check back tomorrow late night for news flash!
5/14/2002- All is quiet on the news front. C-MAX, T2P, and Ryo are back in Japan now. Hopefully some photos of the Anniversary show will begin to surface, of the new outfits for the Italian Connection guys, and the new students, especially. There will probably be some reports in Weekly Pro and from fans who went on the tour soon. As for what is next, there are several T2P events in Japan this weekend and next week, with autograph signings and talk shows. Toryumon Japan resumes on Saturday, with a show in Mie, leading to the end of the month Korakuen Hall show, and the T2P tour. Also, I am planning on putting together a new comp tape in the near future, but I'm not sure what to cover yet. If anyone has any requests, email me or post on the message board.
5/11/2002- Here are full results from Mexico, sans times as of yet. Hopefully soon. Thanks to Rob Bihari and our friends over at www.toryumon.com. Looks like we are going to have to wait for those who went on the tour to hear about what happened in the way of Milano getting Mikeru back, or how Tajima performed in his debut. I have heard that the UWA 6 man tag title match was incredible, with CIMA and Milano ruling it (just reporting what I was told..).
5/9/2002- More tour dates for July up. C-MAX, Ryo, and all the fans joining them on the Mexico Tour have departed for Mexico, Toryumon X preceded them a few days ago.
5/8/2002- Got new GAORA programming info, so I now have the air dates for the next T2P Special and VamoAmi. As was already known, the El Numero Uno finals and Genki vs Ryo from 4/27 will air on 5/19. In June, VamoAmi will air on 6/5 and cover 5/19 Differ Ariake and 5/21 Kobe (which obviously haven't occured yet. The next T2P Special will air on 6/28, will be 2 hours (*cringe) and will cover 5/11 (5th anniversary show) and 6/6 Korakuen Hall. Here's hoping something good doesn't get cut so they can show the awful looking main of 5/11 which features NO ONE from T2P or T-Japan. All the air dates of each show is up in schedules.
5/8/2002- Takamichi Iwasas' return from injury match was confirmed for Zepp Sendai on 6/4. We wish him all the best on his return. The back to back Korakuen Hall shows on 6/6 and 6/7 may have some sort of T2P vs. Japan series. The column I promised yesterday is up in the column section. If you have any comments please post them on the message board. Also, I have added a profile for the much hyped Hisamaru Tajima.
5/8/2002- Match list for VamoAmi #29 (April 2002) is up. Not the greatest show, in fact probably the worst one in some time. After watching it, I have decided to write a column on the current problems plaguing Toryumon Japan. Look for that within a few days, along with possibly a short review of VamoAmi.
5/6/2002- Results from
Kanagawa up. Early matinee today. Once again a Magu run after SUWAs' match.
It's been awhile since I updated on the injury situations, so here goes:
Yasushi Kanda, been out since November with a neck injury, is
slated to return around 7/7 for the big World Hall show. SUWA,
working with an injured neck. Super Shiisa, day to day with an
injured leg or knee. Raimu Mishima missed yesterdays' show with an
illness, he is pretty much OK now. Takamichi Iwasa, been out since
December with a shoulder injury, he may be back in time for the next T2P
Japan tour. Mototsugu Shimizu, been out since 2000 with a severe
shoulder injury, due back in fall. Chocoflake K-ICHI, MIA since
11/8/01, makes his return on 6/8 at the 5th anniversary party, return to
action presumably shortly thereafter.
5/5/2002- Just thought I would share something I came across this evening. I found an old Japanese Lucha Libre site that was covering Japanese wrestlers in Mexico during the late 90s (seems to be 1997-98). This page mentioned the debut of SAITO in Mexico, and said he had been working previously as Super Shiisa. There was even a photo of the old gimmick. (click HERE) he is the 4th from the left. I think this pretty much solves our mystery of who Shiisa is now. This is the website, it doesn't seem to have been updated in years. Nihonjin Lucha Libre Ganbare! .
5/5/2002- Results from Tokorozawa up. Seems Magnum shook hands with M2K today, and may *finally* be joining them at Differ Ariake in a few weeks. He continued to deny he would join and said he aligned with them to help in his feud with SUWA. They teased beginning the M2K vs C-MAX feud anew with Magu as the leader of M2K today, as there were altercations with SUWA, CIMA as well as the Toryumon Army. Mochizuki hinted at starting a new team during the opening MC.
5/4/2002- Full results up from Katsura Studio. On 6/8 in Azuba, there will be a 5th anniversary party, where everyone will participate, Toryumon Japan, T2P, and Toryumon X. Also the return of Chocoflake. This will ONLY be an event, not a show (*sigh). This will be the first time the entire Dragon Gym roster will be in the same place at the same time. For those of you in Japan or will be in Japan around that time, all the relevant info is posted in the schedule section, along with updated GAORA schedules, and tour dates and events. SUWA returned tonight, he is working injured, but it isn't that serious. He was attacked by Magnum after his match. All signs are indicating to a SUWA vs Magnum main at the big World Hall show, barring an Ultimo return. After the main event, Magnum assaulted Raimu, causing Araken to help Raimu, and a big brawl ensued. Magnum was booed heavily all night.
