News and Report Archive

5/31/2003- Not going out of town, but I am deathly ill, so I will keep this brief. World will return to PPV this year, on SkyPerfect. Airing as it happens on 6/29. The move CIMA won with today is a funky little roll-up/flash pin move.

5/27/2003- Ultimo made his WWE debut last night, on a Raw dark match. He defeated Rico. Seems CIMA has vacated the International Jr. Heavyweight title, and now solely holds the UDG Belt. As it currently stands, the Japan debut for X will occur this summer, not late fall, like T2P.

5/25/2003- Aichi results. Birthdays have been added to the X profiles without them. (Except Kogare and the 4 new debutantes)

5/25/2003- Some random notes tonight. (R)Lambo Miura of Toryumon X is another car based gimmick, joining Berlinetta and Murcielago. He is a Lamborghini Miura. Is it getting scary enough yet?^^) The Differ Cup tournament will be released on DVD on 5/20 for 4800.

5/24/2003- Hiroshima results. Milano made his return today, but is still pretty sick, from what reports say. That isn't a typo in the main, Magu won with CIMAs' Perfect Driver, then he said he would win the UDG Belt from CIMA with his own move. The next Uno Dos Tres will air on 6/8.

5/22/2003- The Toryumon offer match for World Japan was today, thus providing the best match in that companies' history. SUWA defeated Doi with the FFF in 10:26. In other news, Ogawauchi is now known as JUN, in all Romanji, like SUWA, CIMA, etc, and not by the kanji. He turned on his partners during the handicap 6 man in Mexico on 5/11, causing the double ringout.

5/18/2003- Mie results, day 2. There was also a Toryumon offer match on today's Moebius show. Anthony defeated Iwasa in 9:31 by Escargot.

5/17/2003- Early results from Mie. Apparently Ultimo is having Visa problems, and will be unable to appear this weekend at the WWE PPV as planned. He will debut as soon as he gets a visa......

5/16/2003- Chicken results and report. Also, the GAORA page finally updated with first names for the new X kids, so the 5/11 Mexico results are updated. The names are KONDO&CO, Manabu Kataue, and Rambo Miura........

--CIMA has challenged Magu for World, and K-ness will face YOSSINO at World, as expected.
--The second generation of TARUcito will debut soon, for Mini MAX. This confirms the rumours of the original 'cito being gone from the company. TARU said he expects them all to come to Japan in summer.
--Jun Ogawauchi has officially joined C-MAX, he will debut for them at the June Chicken, and has renamed to just JUN. (It's actually
, which is the kanji for Jun....)
--Anthony and Iwasa, angry at Stalker for losing the opener, said they were now headhunting Ichikawa-gun (Stalkers' make believe unit).
--Mochi vs. Shuji was for the next challenger to SUWAs' British Commonwealth title, probably for a match at World. But due to the no contest they will have to have a rematch at the June Chicken.

5/15/2003- Tonight's Chicken will feature a UWA 6 Person title match between CMAX and DF members.

5/14/2003-  Nikkan Sports finally posted the 5/11 Mexico results. 4 more members of X made their debut, one being the expected Mini CIMA, one named Kataue, one named Miura (no first names available yet, sorry) the other, is mysteriously named KONDO. This show will air as a special in June.

5/13/2003- Ultimo has vacated his newly won NWA Middleweight title. There will be a tournament held to crown the next champion. To be honest, let's hope it goes somewhere besides Toryumon, we have enough here now, including......Taiji Ishimori defeated Super Crazy to win the vacant UWA Welterweight title on the Toryumon Mexico 5/11 Anniversary show. Full results are not yet available, however. CMAX also won, defending their UWA trios titles. Hopefully results will spawn on the Gaora page, or from any kind source in Mexico.

5/10/2003- The annual Mexico tour is well underway now, with the Anniversary show taking place tonight. (Hopefully results will pop soon). For now, here are results from a 15 person tag involving CMAX and Ultimo from EMLL last night (thanks to KrisZ). Added the description of Magus' 44 to the tech guide. (not that there is much to describe....)

EMLL Torneo Cibernetico Grand Prix
1. Felino over TARU with a desnucadora
2. Katsushi Takemura over Felino with a Death Valley Driver
3. Mazada over Virus with a armbar
4. Mephisto over Don Fujii with a La Cruceta
5. Mazada & Negro Casas are DQed
6. Katsushi Takemura over Mephisto with the Death Brand
7. Averno over SUWA by pinfall
8. Blue Panther over Takemura by pinfall
9. CIMA over Averno by submission
10. Shocker over NOSAWA by pinfall
11. CIMA over Blue Panther by pinfall
12. Shocker over CIMA with a La Reinera
13. Shocker was DQed
14. Dr. Wagner Jr. over Ultimo Dragon with the Wagner Driver II to win the Grand Prix

5/8/2003- The Toryumon offer match for the World Japan 5/22 show was announced, it will be SUWA vs. Doi. According to Dave Meltzer, Ultimo won't be wrestling at the WWE PPV on 5/18. Someone should tell Ultimo that, so he stops saying he is. Updated the Tech Guide, adding moves for CIMA, K-ness, YASSINI, Ishimori, and a few others.

5/7/2003- Ultimo gave a press conference today to discuss his departure for the WWE. He wouldn't discuss the terms, but it is apparently for 3 years, and will allow him time to return to Japan and Mexico to compete for Toryumon. He will be using a different mask (and possibly ring costume). The new mask appears to be similar to the one he wore back on 9/8/02 in his return exhibition. Click here and here for various photos, thanks to the kind folks at Sportsnavi. Ultimo also said that Toryumon would continue to prosper, even in his absence. The talk now is that he will return for World and wrestle Sasuke. Our good friend Mayuko over at the Shimizu HP Marshmallow recently moved her HP, so please visit her now at http://marshmallow.itigo.jp/,. Many thanks to the folks who mailed me about the Sol Noches El thing, all of them confirming it for me. The translation is more along the lines of "The Dark Sun", or the "The Nights' Sun". Hopefully some photos will surface soon^^). Coming back around to World (yeah, I tend to digress sometimes) As of now, the card will feature SUWA vs. Shuji (possibly in a gimmick match), Sasuke vs. Ultimo, and CIMA vs. Magu in what would be a "true ace" battle for the UDG Belt.

5/6/2003- Korakuen results.  K-ness made his return tonight.  The move he won with is a modified Sol Naciente.  The name given for it is something along the lines of Sol Noches El (my Spanish is terrible, much less when translating it from Japanese, any insight is welcome^^;;).  It seems to mean something along the lines of "Setting sun", which is the opposite of Sol Naciente (Rising Sun). The feud with YOSSINO seems to have been re-kindled, making us ALL happy. SUWA has extended some sort of challenge to Shuji for World. After the main, Ultimo placed the UDG Belt around CIMAs' waist, while CIMA cried. Ultimo, as expected, announced he would be departing for the WWE on 5/18, debuting at the WWE PPV Judgment Day. He said he will fulfill his dream of competing in Madison Square Garden, at next years' Wrestlemania. He then participated in the DF dance......... Some more notes, from Sportsnavi. Stalker claimed himself to be a majour star, having been on page 1 of Weekly Sports because of his match with Takayama......Magnum, along with nominating Okamura, also said he should get a shot at the UDG Belt. Count on this to main event World this year.

5/5/2003- Niigata results, very small roster today, due to Milano and Mochi being held off due to bad colds, and Anthony and Iwasa accompanying Ultimo to the MPRO show. On said MPRO show, Ultimo  defeated the Great Sasuke for the NWA Middleweight title ,ending Sasukes' 4 year+ reign with the belt. Ultimo won in 19:10 with the Dragon Sleeper. Ultimo had Iwasa and Anthony as his seconds. Tonight's match vs CIMA has been rumoured to be a double title match now, with the UDG Belt vs the NWA Middleweight. There is also talk of CIMA vs. Sasuke at World this year......

5/4/2003- Aichi results. Milano had to cancel off today for unknown reasons. It seems Toryumon will be sending an offer match to the 5/22 World Japan show, no word on exactly what.

5/2/2003- GAORA schedule updated for June, and X profiles now have some small photos ripped from the 2003 Mook. (thanks Stu!) Match listings up for the final 7 hours of Toryumon TV from April, including the PPV. are up.  Click here to read some incoherent, random thoughts.
